***I apologize for the late post. I was unexpectedly out of town and away from my computer, yesterday. :(
Lately, I have been working with the kids on doing fun things with very little toys, or just making their own toys. I developed this craft as a fun thing to make that can also be a toy for at least a little while. Sure, it won't last forever, but they are fun to play with while they last. I noticed that they will take better care of something they make themselves, so having the kids make their own toys is a great way to teach them to be careful with things that are easily replaced and not so expensive.

Whenever I spend time with the kids, I try to do at least one crafty thing and play one or several games of pretend with them. This craft project can do both. It is fun to make and it is fun to play pretend with.
I was a nanny for over ten years. Now, I make homemade toys and write full time. Occasionally, I work at my local schools and provide back- up child care for some parents I used to work for and for my church's nursery. I am multi-talented and loves to paint, draw, crochet, write and sew.
