I am sure you all have see the art class featured in the sidebar the last few weeks and I thought I'd explain that a little bit more. This summer, I am trying something new. I love art of all mediums and I really wanted to share my love with some local kids. I also love being outside. Connecting With Nature Through Art combines both my love for adventure outdoors and my passion for art.
In this class, we will start to train our brains to see the art in nature. Each class we will go on a short hike through the park searching for inspiration. Then we will use different techniques (like resist painting and collage design) to create a unique project. Each class will begin with an icebreaker or team-building game to help create a sense of community between all the kids. The last class we will work together to create a large mural on the ground using only nature we find on our walk.
The class starts next Tuesday and will continue every week for four weeks. I will be blogging each week about what we do. If you want to be a part of the class, you have until Monday to register on EventBrite.
If you are not in the Goldendale/ Columbia Gorge area, stay tuned to see all the we have and get some summertime ideas for your family!
I was a nanny for over ten years. Now, I make homemade toys and write full time. Occasionally, I work at my local schools and provide back- up child care for some parents I used to work for and for my church's nursery. I am multi-talented and loves to paint, draw, crochet, write and sew.
